Drone Security & Surveillance Across South Africa

Live aerial surveillance, thermal imaging and wider situational awareness for large, remote and sensitive environments.

Drone Security & Surveillance Across South Africa

Monitoring large sites, public environments and sensitive areas from the ground can leave gaps in visibility, making it difficult to understand what is happening beyond the reach of fixed cameras or personnel. Quemic Airborne uses professional drones to provide a mobile aerial view across an operational area, helping teams observe activity, investigate areas of concern and gain clearer situational awareness from above. Flights can be planned for routine monitoring or deployed when additional aerial visibility is required, with visual, thermal and low-light imaging supporting operations across changing environments and lighting conditions.

How Drones Conduct Security Monitoring

Pre-planned flight paths allow drones to cover selected areas, access routes and site perimeters from consistent aerial positions.

During the flight, high-resolution cameras provide a wider view of the environment while zoom capability allows operators to examine areas of interest from a safer stand-off distance.

Live aerial video gives operators greater visibility of movement and activity across the site, helping them understand what is happening beyond the view of fixed cameras or personnel.

Where further attention is required, the drone can reposition to observe the area from another angle and provide additional visual information to support the operational response.

Night & Low-Light Monitoring

During nighttime or low-light flights, Quemic’s drones capture the site using low-light visual imaging, while thermal imaging detects differences in heat across people, vehicles, equipment and the surrounding environment.

Where visible light is limited, near-infrared auxiliary illumination can help capture additional detail. An optional spotlight can also illuminate a specific area when a clearer visual view is required.

As the drone moves through the site, operators can compare visual and thermal views to locate heat signatures, observe movement and examine activity from different aerial positions.

This gives security and operational teams greater visibility in areas where conventional cameras or normal visual observation may be limited.

Vehicle & Movement Monitoring

Quemic Airborne conducts aerial surveillance to monitor vehicles moving through large sites, access roads and surrounding areas from an elevated position.

During a flight, operators use visual and thermal imaging, together with zoom capability, to locate vehicles, assess their position and track movement across the operational area. Zoom capability allows a vehicle to be examined more closely from a distance, while thermal imaging can help locate vehicles at night or in low-light conditions through their heat signatures.

Where conditions allow, visual imagery can be used to capture additional identifying detail, including vehicle type, colour and visible registration information.

Live aerial footage gives Quemic’s security and operational teams a clearer view of a vehicle’s location, direction of travel and surrounding activity, helping them determine where further monitoring or ground response may be required.
